Kevin is the Principal and founding Solicitor at Redford Robertson. He obtained his LLB (Hons) degree in Scots law at the University of Glasgow before moving to Seville for a year. He thereafter returned and undertook his diploma in legal practice at the University of Glasgow.
Thereafter, he began his traineeship within a Scotland wide firm dealing with high value insurance litigation claims and gained exposure to Guardianship work before qualifying in 2013. As a newly qualified solicitor he moved to another firm to gain further exposure to personal injury work in the Sheriff Court.
Following this he then went to work in the field Mental Health and Incapacity Law to further his existing knowledge in terms of Adult’s with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and to gain considerable exposure in the field of Mental Health Law.
Kevin has extensive knowledge and experience of advising and representing patients and Named Persons under the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and has appeared at hundreds of tribunals across Scotland before the Mental Health Tribunal. He has also provided advice in relation to appeals to the Sheriff Principal and Court of Session.
Considerable experience has also been gained as a result of appointments by the Mental Health Tribunal as a curator ad litem to represent the interests of those who have been deemed to lack capacity. Kevin also has considerable experience of private client work ranging from wills and executries to Guardianship and Power of Attorney
Following an initial career in the aviation industry, Mark decided to return to university and qualify in Scots law as a solicitor. After gaining his LLB (Hons) degree and diploma in legal practice at the University of Glasgow he went on to undertake his traineeship at a UK wide firm in the field of insurance litigation. He qualified in 2016. He thereafter moved as a newly qualified solicitor to work for a Scotland wide firm within their high value serious injury department dealing with complex cases.
Mark has a sound understanding of advising clients in relation to the pre-action protocol and in litigated court actions. He always strives to ensure the best outcome on behalf of his clients.
After gaining considerable experience within this area of law, Mark decided to diversify and expand his existing skill set. He has a firm interest in the area of Mental Health and Incapacity law along with Private Client services. Mark can draw on his considerable experience to advise and represent a variety of clients in a professional and client centered approach which takes account of their individual circumstances.
