Mental Health
We understand that being detained in hospital can be a stressful and challenging time for individuals and their families. Here at Redford Robertson, we can assist you or those close to you should you or they be detained under the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. We have considerable experience acting for not only patients but also their Named Persons and those who are deemed to have a sufficient interest under the relevant legislation.
We represent individuals in a wide range of matters from Short Term Detention Certificates to Compulsory Treatment Orders and to those on either a Compulsion Order or a Compulsion Order and Restriction Order. We can visit our clients in hospital, at home or in our centrally located office depending on the circumstances.
We can advise and represent you in a wide variety of matters ranging from the Mental Health Tribunal to appeals to the Sheriff Principal and to the Court of Session. Legal Aid may be available for your case where eligible.
